On Monday, July 22, 2024, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield announced that the U.S. Department of Defense would provide a "substantial increase" in the number of armored vehicles to the Kenyan-led, UN-backed multinational mission to assist the Haitian National Police (PNH) to combat widespread gang violence.
