Haiti - Politic : The decree of the Civil Commission will be published on November 21

The President Michel Martelly has commemorated the 208 anniversary of the Battle of Vertières, this Friday, November 18, 2011. The ceremony took place at the Champs de Mars in the presence of former President Boniface Alexandre and Prosper Avril, the President of the Supreme Court, members of the government, the diplomatic corps and members of parliament.

Regarding the establishment of the Armed Forces of Haiti, the Head of State announced the formation of a civil Commission whose the decree will be published on November 21. This commission will have 40 days to submit a report, will have to discuss with the various forces of the Nation, in order to define an agenda and develop a doctrine in the perspective of the operationalization of the new National Defence Force.

On January 1, 2012, the Head of State will officially publish this agenda. "No withdrawal of the MINUSTAH without the establishment of our own army," informed the Head of State.
