Others in attendance included: Ambassador Director General Jerusa Ali, Ambassador Colin Granderson, Special Advisor on Haiti to the CARICOM Secretary-General, Ms. Elizabeth Solomon, Assistant Secretary-General (Foreign and Community Relations, CARICOM Secretariat) Ms. Anna Lisa Jones-Reis, Officer, Foreign and Community Relations, CARICOM Secretariat, and Captain Chapell Whyms-Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Eminent Person's main agenda was to understand how MSSM had taken off and some of the challenges and teething problems that needed to be addressed to enable other contributing countries to send their personnel to Haiti for the Mission. They reiterated their commitment to seeing the Mission succeed since Kenya had taken a bold step in leading and deploying her officers to Haiti. hey appreciated the steps and measures the Mission had taken to work in tandem with PNH to recapture some of the critical infrastructure. They promised to catalyze the deployment of other contributing countries, especially from Caricom. He stressed the rationale behind the creation of Forward Operating Bases (FOB) and the need to have helicopters for the Mission.
