Just as the unionists played their role during the state examinations, Minister Augustin encouraged them to support the Ministry in planning and implementing all actions aimed at facilitating the start of the school year throughout the country.

Thus, Minister Antoine recalled a series of initiatives such as: the financial aid of 20,000 gourdes that the Government decided to grant to 261,000 parents with children enrolled in national schools and communal schools of the 10 Departmental Directorates of Education https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43123-icihaiti-back-to-school-distribution-of-billions-of-gourdes.html ; the distribution of unique books in Haitian Creole from grades 1 to 4; the extension of the canteen in more schools; the recovery of school spaces victims of acts of violence (in progress); the strengthening of the governance of the Departmental Directorates of Education (DDE); the reorganization of national schools and high schools; the application of the national policy on preschool education; psychosocial support for students and teachers; teacher training, particularly for four new subjects for basic schools https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43180-icihaiti-call-for-expressions-of-interest-teaching-the-4-new-subjects.html ; the evaluation of the revision of candidates' copies for official exams…

The Minister reiterated how interested he is in the collaboration of unions in the development of all these projects.

Furthermore, the Minister was attentive to the grievances of these union representatives regarding the right of all children to go to school and benefit from a quality education; the improvement of teachers' working conditions; more social benefits for teachers; OFATMA health insurance that does not work, teachers appointed but not yet paid among others…
