Antonal Mortimé, Executive Secretary of the Platform of the Haitian Organizations for the Defense of Human Rights (POHDH) is not opposed to this national defense force, noting that it is a constitutional institution. The idea of ​​a national consultation [Civil Commission] is an idea that we welcome, we hope that these consultations will not happen on a discriminatory basis, but that they involve everyone, very sector and not just those of the metropolitan area. There are 10 departments in the country, 570 municipalities, 70 communal sections... so we hope that all sectors including farmers, women and workers will be concerned by these consultations, so that they can give their ideas until we find a consensus on the issue of the national defense force..."
