The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of 8 members of the Presidential Transitional Council who signed the resolution, Acting Prime Minister Carlos Hercules and members of the Government, Rameau Normil Acting Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) as well as members of the diplomatic and consular corps. During his speech, Leslie Voltaire said i'm : "[...] proud to assume my responsibilities as President of the Transitional Council. Our priority is clear : to restore security throughout the country. Firm and immediate measures will be taken to protect every citizen. We are also setting our sights on transparent and inclusive elections, for a return to constitutional order. Let’s stay united !" Speech by rotating President Leslie Voltaire : Reactions to the installation of the new rotating President of the CPT : Louis Gérald Gilles, Member of the CPT "I welcome the installation of Leslie Voltaire as President of the Transitional Council. A man of great culture and great patriotic wisdom, he embodies a key figure on whom the Council can rely to lead Haiti towards reconciliation, both with itself and with the rest of the world. Our shared history with other great Nations will be privileged over bellicose, vain and unproductive speeches. Security remains our absolute priority within the CPT, and it is together that we will meet this challenge." Embassy of France : "The Embassy of France in Haiti welcomes the installation of Leslie Voltaire as President of the Transitional Council, on the occasion of a ceremony attended by its chargé d’affaires." Embassy of the United States : "The United States congratulates the Presidential Transitional Council for its commitment to a peaceful transition of power. We look forward to continuing to work with the CPT to build the better future that Haitians deserve." Smith Augustin, removed from this 2nd rotating Presidency : "[...] Together we will work to overcome the challenges through true collegial leadership. This is a patriotic duty that we cannot fail. The transition must succeed. We will do everything possible not to disappoint the people and all those who trust us. Justice will triumph!" Advisor Emmanuel Vertilaire : "I am convinced that Mr. Voltaire will be able to breathe positive and lasting momentum into the CPT [...] I thus express my confidence in the ability of the new President of the Council to guide the country, together with the Presidential Advisors, towards promising horizons and to meet the challenges with discernment, integrity and a sense of duty." ** Resolution modifying the rotation of Presidents: Published in "Le Moniteur" this resolution stipulates that "the rotating presidency will be ensured successively by Edgard Leblanc Fils (May 7 - October 7, 2024), Leslie Voltaire (October 7, 2024 - March 7, 2025), Fritz Alphonse Jean (March 7 - August 7, 2025) and Laurent Saint-Cyr (August 7, 2025 - February 7, 2026).
