Haiti - Security : End of rumors surrounding alleged mercenaries in the country
On Monday, November 4th, 2024, Prime Minister Garry Conille visited the Villa d’Accueil at the invitation of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) regarding the presence in Haiti of members of a foreign security company described as mercenaries... Only three Advisors Lesly Voltaire, President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, Laurent St-Cyr and Frisnel Joseph were present.

The Head of Government explained to the CPT that a contract had been signed with the Studebaker Group, a multinational security firm, to provide specialized training to the PNH. That the previous President Edgard Leblanc Fils was perfectly informed and that it is undoubtedly a problem of poor transmission of this information. No other points were discussed during this meeting

Me Carlos Hercule, Minister of Justice, in a press release published the same day, facing of rumors circulating on social networks concerning the presence of members of the Studebaker Group in Haiti, informs everyone of the implementation of a training and mentoring program in collaboration with the Studebaker Group, aimed at strengthening the capacities of the PNH

The Studebaker provides advanced tactical training for PNH officers in order to develop essential skills in accordance with international standards for maintaining order.

This training program, placed under the direct supervision of the General Directorate of the PNH, is part of a collaborative approach and a shared commitment to restoring national security and public safety.
