"Due to recent events, we have decided to suspend flights to Cap-Haïtien until further notice," Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Aviation and Investment of the Bahamas, explained at a press conference adding "The safety of Bahamasair and passengers comes first and every day, every week, we evaluate whether to continue the service." Chester Cooper reiterated that the airline generally flies to Cap-Haïtien because the city is safer than Port-au-Prince stressing "We do not take the safety of Bahamasair and its passengers lightly, our policy will always be to cancel a flight if we consider the situation to be unstable."
