Haiti - Humanitarian : The Jordanian peacekeepers help Haitian students
In order to support the education of children from disadvantaged areas, Peacekeepers from the Jordanian Battalion (JORBAT) of the United Nations Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (MINUSTAH) have established a plan of distribution of bags, school supplies, toys and clothing (donated by King Abdullah II) to many schools and orphanages.

This initiative has already benefited to a dozen schools and 9 orphanages, the last was the school "Foyer des Enfants" to Diquini, a neighborhood of Carrefour who welcomed the peacekeepers on Thursday 1st December.

150 students of the school "Foyer des Enfants", were visited by JORBAT which has made available to them a lot of school bags and school supplies, including notebooks, pencils, pens and erasers. The founder of ASPD and the school principal, Joseph Sinclus, appreciated this act of solidarity, especially since "many students can not afford to buy basic school supplies."

Started on August 25th at the college mixed "Frères Charles" of Lilavois [Croix-des-Bouquets] This initiative is expected to continue throughout the school year. In addition, the Jordanian Battalion puts its medical skills to the service of the close disadvantaged municipalities and neighborhoods by organizing regular consultation sessions and distribution of drugs free of charge.
