Haiti - Social : «The integration in the society is a right for all» 04/12/2011 11:15:09
"...I want to bring a special message for all people living with disabilities across the country. Disabled people are people like everyone, they have capacities, talents, they can go to school, learn, work, form a family, take care of their families and themselves. That is why, we encourage all sectors to come together to facilitate their access to society: access to education, vocational training, health, housing, transportation, labor, justice , to the new information technologies and communication, culture and sports. The Presidency believes that the work for the integration of disabled people advance, and it will take all necessary steps for that. The Office of the Secretary of State for Persons with Disabilities has our support and we want that all these people live with hope and gather more and more. Because, with a minimum of support, a disabled person can lead an active life, as a normal citizen. Dream together ! Imagine that all these people have the opportunity to work. This would allow them to live independently and to exercise their rights and duty such as any citizen in honor, integrity and dignity, not to mention the positive impact this would have on all segments of society. I will allow myself add, that every citizen is a potential disabled. Thus, the participation of disabled people in the development of country is an issue that must concern us all. Living with a disability is not the end of the world, it's the beginning of a difficult adventure, but can can bring a different experience. Because when a person with a disability arrives to overcome its disability, it is able to do a lot of wonders. Let's not forget, the integration in society is a right for all."
