For the first time in three years, the city of Jérémie is once again benefiting from an electricity supply from Electricité d'Haïti (EDH). For years, the people of Jérémie have had to adapt to the absence of this essential service, impacting their daily lives and their economic activities. New Government Commissioners Patrick Pélissier, the Minister of Justice, appointed Me Jean Michel Augustin as the new Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince. He replaces Me Lionel Constant Bourgoin, transferred to Jacmel. The Minister also appointed Me Guy Alexis as head of the Croix-des-Bouquet prosecutor's office. Finally, he confirmed in his position Me Charles Edouard Durand, who was acting as government commissioner in Cap-Haitien. UEH : Psychological Support Unit The State University of Haiti (UEH) informs the UEH community that the Rectorate, through the Student Life Department, has set up a psychological support unit, a space for empathetic listening and support for students of both sexes affected by the situation in the country and facing psychological problems that may have an impact on their studies. For any need for psychological assistance, interested students are invited to call the following number: (+509) 3741-0343. A mental health professional is available Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to assist them. Gambling prohibited for minors In order to combat gambling addiction, the Haitian State Lottery (LEH) has decided that access by minors to gambling establishments, including Borlette, is now prohibited.
