Artibonite : Bandits set fire to a gas station
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, heavily armed members of Savien's "Gran grif" gang set fire to a gas station on RN#1, near Carrefour-Peye, in Artibonite.

Tabarre on red alert
Thursday, February 6, Arsonval Alexandre, the Mayor of Tabarre, declared the town on red alert for Friday, February 7, following the announcement by gangs of the "Viv Ansanm" coalition of potential attacks for that day and called on residents and local organizations to be vigilant and exercise the utmost caution.

Brazil Visa : CAVB closed
In view of the overall security situation, the Brazil Visa Application Center (CAVB) will not operate Friday, February 7, 2025. The beneficiaries affected will be able to present themselves on Friday, May 2nd, 2025.

Pétion-ville : Deprived of carnival celebration
The Municipal Commission of Pétion-ville informs the public, as well as all walking bands and rara groups, that no carnival celebration this year will take place in the commune of Pétion-ville, in order to prevent any risk related to the current security situation. Consequently, it is strictly forbidden for bands to parade or occupy public roads and public squares. Any offender will be subject to sanctions, including arrest by the police authorities and a fine of one hundred and fifty thousand gourdes (150,000 Gdes).

FAA will train FAd’H
Antoine Michon, French Ambassador to Haiti, met with Jean-Michel Moïse, Minister of Defense, to whom he confirmed that as part of the commitments, France will support the necessary build-up of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H). Several training sessions for soldiers and trainers will be conducted by the Armed Forces in the Antilles (FAA).

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed his support for the renewal of trade preferences for Haiti under the HOPE (Hemispheric Opportunity through Partnership Encouragement) Act and its complementary HELP (Haiti Economic Lift Program) program, which give certain clothing duty-free access to the American market and which is due to expire in September 2025. Tens of thousands of jobs depend on it.
