Haiti - Religion : Pope Francis' health improves slightly

On Monday evening, February 24, 2025, the Holy See updated Pope Francis on his health. No new respiratory crisis has occurred, the oxygen flow has been reduced slightly, and the results of the tests are improving. The slight renal failure does not give rise to concern. The Holy Father has returned to work...

The note also indicates that on Monday morning Pope Francis received the Eucharist and that in the afternoon he resumed his professional activities. In addition, "at 7:00 p.m. he called, as he does every day, the parish priest of the Catholic parish of the Holy Family, in Gaza, which has been severely tested by the war, to express his paternal closeness and to ask for news."

Regarding the prayers for his health and all the attention he has received since the beginning of his hospitalization, the Sovereign Pontiff also thanks "all the people of God."

Among the initiatives undertaken to show closeness and support to the Pope and to all the sick, the Rosary will be recited every evening starting this Monday in St. Peter's Square at 9:00 p.m. (Rome time). The first prayer will be presided over by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See. All the cardinals residing in Rome and their collaborators from the Roman Curia and the Diocese of Rome will also be present.

Furthermore, on Monday at the Gemelli Hospital, where the Holy Father has been hospitalized since February 14, adoration at noon was led by the chaplain followed by a Mass at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Hospital by Msgr. Claudio Giuliodori, General Ecclesiastical Assistant of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and of Italian Catholic Action and a Rosary is recited every afternoon. These moments for the special intention of the Pope will be repeated throughout his hospitalization.

Breaking news : This Tuesday morning, February 25, the Holy See reported that "The Pope rested well all night [...] the clinical condition of the Holy Father, in his critical phase, has slightly improved."
