First Kenyan killed on Haitian soil
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, one of the officers of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) was injured in the head during an operation against the "Gran Grif" gang in the Ségur-Savien area (Bas-Artibonite). Several members of the gang were killed in the exchange of fire. The injured officer was urgently evacuated by air to the level 2 hospital in Aspen where he unfortunately died despite the efforts of the medical teams. This is the first Kenyan police officer killed in Haiti since the arrival of the multinational force.

Inspection at the Armored Operations Center
Rameau Normil, the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Inspector General Péyo Smith, the Central Director of the Judicial Police, Inspector General Jean René François, and the Head of the Central Directorate of Administration and General Services (DCASG) Jean Philippe Jovin, carried out an inspection visit to the Armored Operations Center to ensure, as they do every day, the proper functioning of the equipment and materials available to the PNH to continue the fight against gangs.
