Half of Haiti’s armored vehicles unserviceable

In a letter to the Security Council this week, UN Secretary-General António Guterres noted that many of the mission’s "armored vehicles are e ill-equipped for the urban environment of Port-au-Prince and that a lack of spare parts has rendered half of all its combat vehicles inoperable."

10 Congressmen Call for Reinstatement of TPS for Haiti

In a letter to the relevant authorities, 10 U.S. Congressmen are urging the Trump administration to rescind the decision on TPS for Haiti and restore the Haitians’ Temporary Protected Status to remain in the United States. They stress that the cancellation of the TPS is proof that the Trump administration is ignoring the urgent humanitarian needs of the Haitian people, who are plagued by gang violence... Inflation : 29.7% up

According to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics in its latest monthly publication, "Le Coin de l’IPC", inflation on an annual basis reached 29.7% in January 2025, compared to 28.5% in December 2024.

Once again the CPT condemns

The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) condemns in the strongest possible terms the acts of violence perpetrated in several neighbourhoods of the metropolitan area, notably in Tabarre 27, Debussy, Fort National and Delmas 30. These tragic events caused the death of many compatriots and forced others to abandon their homes, thus plunging several families into anguish and disarray. The CPT expresses its deep solidarity with the victims and their loved ones in this period of great distress and has instructed the police to take all necessary measures to restore order, protect the population and bring those responsible for these acts to justice.

Dom. Rep. declares gangs in Haiti as "Terrorist Organizations"

In his speech on February 27, 2025, President Luis Abinader reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s firm stance on the crisis in Haiti, highlighting the lack of response from the international community and announcing new measures to ensure national security https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44348-haiti-dom-rep-stricter-surveillance-measures-on-the-border-with-haiti.html . In addition, Abinader signed a decree declaring armed gangs operating in Haiti as "terrorist organizations". From now on, anyone linked to these groups who attempts to enter Dominican territory will be prosecuted, arrested, and tried under the Dominican Republic’s anti-terrorism laws.
