Haiti - FLASH : More than 42,000 people displaced in less than 3 weeks

This report is an update of the latest figures published https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44421-haiti-news-zapping.html following the armed violence that has occurred since February 14, 2025 in several neighborhoods of the Metropolitan Zone of Port-au-Prince, including those of Delmas 19, Codada - Delmas 30, the neighborhoods of Carrefour-Feuilles and Fort National (commune of Port-au-Prince), the neighborhoods of Cargo, Métivier and Corvette (commune of Pétion-ville) and that of Tabarre 27.

A total of 42,538 people are now displaced due to this violence, half of them in the commune of Delmas and 44% in that of Port-au-Prince. It should be noted that this figure represents the largest mass displacement observed within the Metropolitan Area of ​​Port-au-Prince since the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) was implemented.

67% of displaced persons (28,674 people) found refuge in 41 sites, 32 of which already existed before this wave of violence and 9 new ones, created due to the significant flow of displaced persons.

The rest of the people found refuge with relatives in host families. A significant portion of the people were already displaced and were forced to do so again : 9 sites that previously hosted 18,862 people were closed because of this violence and these people moved to other places of reception.
