Haiti - Economy : Martelly and Lamothe have met with potential investors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs informs that the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, participates in the Fourth Summit of CARICOM-Cuba held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on December 8-9, 2011, the Head of State accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe, have met yesterday with members of the prestigious Association of American States (ACS) and its Secretary General Mr. Luis Fernando Andrade Falla.

The Haitian delegation had fruitful talks with representatives of the largest companies of production and financial companies of investment in Trinidad who have expressed their interest to come and invest in Haiti.

The President of the Republic of Haiti and the Chancellor have, also, conducted ​productive working sessions with more than fifteen companies of Trinidad interested to visit Haiti for market research and the achievement of a number of investment projects, holders of capital and of multiple job creation that will allow a true social inclusion through the diplomacy of business.

A summit will soon be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs in Haiti to invite members of the CARICOM to rediscover the Republic of Haiti and the many investment opportunities.

As part of the new presidential leadership aiming the continuous promotion of Haiti, the Chief of the Haitian State, the Minister Laurent Lamothe and other members of the technical delegation took advantage of forum of the CARICOM to reaffirm the close ties of Haiti with allies in the region and reminded the interest of the Haitian people to create rigorous interconnection links with the world of investors and of Caribbean market.
