FLASH : Aruba Airlines Announces PAP/MIA Flights
Aruba Airlines announces the launch of scheduled direct flights from Port-au-Prince to Miami International Airport (MIA), twice weekly, aboard an Aruba Airlines Airbus 320, with a capacity of 185 seats, starting March 28, 2025.

Dr. Laurent Beaugé shot dead
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, pulmonologist Dr. Laurent Beaugé, former Secretary of State for Health, was shot dead by unidentified individuals shortly before noon near his residence on Marien Street in Delmas 31, while he was driving his vehicle. According to Justice of the Peace Albéric Jean Joseph, the victim was shot at least four times. The exact circumstances of this assassination are currently unknown.

Voluntary return of 226 Haitians from Turkey
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, 226 Haitians (106 men, 95 women, and 25 children) arrived in Port-au-Prince via a charter flight operated by the Turkish airline Air Anka, courtesy of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). They were welcomed at Toussaint Louverture International Airport by Georges Wilbert Franck, Minister of Social Affairs, and Jean Négot Bonheur, General Coordinator of the National Organization for Migration (ONM). These compatriots returned to Haiti voluntarily due to the harsh, precarious conditions they were living in in Turkey. A stipend of 10,000 gourdes was provided to each migrant to facilitate their reintegration, and those with children received an additional 5,000 gourdes per child. See also :

Launch of the PapJazz Festival 2025:
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Haiti Jazz Foundation officially launched its 18th edition, the Port-au-Prince, Jazz Festival (PapJazz). The event organizers promise "a rich and exciting program" for participants during two exceptional evenings on March 21 and 22, 2025.

Increase in cholera cases
148 people with cholera have been admitted to the cholera treatment unit managed by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Cité Soleil, MSF announced in a press release, while cholera cases have also been reported in Fond Baptiste, Arcahaie.
