Haiti - FLASH : End of the «Biden» program, 210,000 Haitians have 30 days to leave the USA 22/03/2025 06:12:45
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is ending the Conditional Stay (Humanitarian Parole) program, better known as the "Biden Program," which granted immigration permission allowing eligible individuals to reside and work in the United States for a period of two years and which affected some 530,000 beneficiaries : Cubans (110,000), Haitians (210,000), Nicaraguans (93,000), and Venezuelans (117,000). The Notice prepared by DHS maintains that this immigration program "are not serving their intended purposes, and are inconsistent with the Administration’s foreign policy goals" This notice will be officially published on Monday or Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in the Federal Register, the effective date of this revocation. This notice grants 30 days (from the date of publication in the Federal Register), unless otherwise determined by the Secretary, to all individuals in the Humanitarian Parole program (whose two years have not already expired) to leave the United States (and who have no other form of legal immigration protection, such as a pending asylum application). The notice specifies that work authorizations will also be revoked and that all beneficiaries will no longer be legally employed after the 30 days. The notice emphasizes that after this period, all individuals who entered through the Humanitarian Parole program, who are still present in the United States, will be given priority for removal.
