Haiti - Economy : A representative of the CFI in each mission and consulate
This week, Ady Jean Gardy, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced that each mission and consulate will have a representative of the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) in it to allow international investors to come into the country, also he recalled that the MFA is actively working on the issue of investment, which will generate jobs and wealth for the people and the country.

"...I think it's necessary to speak of business diplomacy , because the business diplomacy is currently the workhorse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by Mr. Laurent Lamothe, and his vision, say his overall plan s to allow investment to come to Haiti to create capital [...] jobs, and enable the country to have obviously a sharing of wealth for social inclusion. As Chief of Staff of Foreign Affairs I can tell you that we're obviously working very seriously on this issue with missions that are abroad, with the various Goodwill Ambassadors, Ambassadors that we have, the honorary consuls, heads of missions, consuls-general etc...

And we have asked, for example to the CFI, the Investment Facilitation Center to have now a representative in each mission and in each consulate. This will allow obviously to groups of international investors to come into the country..."

At the end of last week the owner of the MFA, Laurent Lamothe stated "...he profile of the Ambassadors will change and will pass from a profile rather diplomat to a profil fairly aggressive, with an academic profile Masters, a profile of entrepreneur, of businessman, able to attract investment, people who are accustomed to wotk in the matchmaking, in the networking throughout the world, so that the promotion of Haiti is made with dignity and of manner to make every Haitian proud. This should encourage investors to come and invest here in Haiti."
