Haiti - Security Challenges : High-Level Visit to the PNH and the Multinational Mission 14/08/2025 09:31:24
During this visit, a moment of silence was observed, with the flag lowered to half-mast, to pay solemn tribute to the memory of the police officers who have recently fallen in the line of duty. During this visit, the Prime Minister installed Frédéric Leconte as the new Chief Inspector General of the PNH. The delegation then visited the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) base in Clercine. During a meeting attended by Inspector General Godfrey Otunge, Commander-in-Chief of the Mission, André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, the new Acting Director General of the PNH, and members of his High Command, as well as representatives of the Kenyan government and the international community, the speakers reaffirmed their joint mobilization against armed gangs and their determination to restore a climate of peace, an essential condition for a return to normal life in Haiti. President Saint-Cyr reiterated that the time for action is now and urged the PNH, the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), and the Multinational Mission to join forces to conduct strategic operations aimed at eradicating insecurity. He reiterated the State's commitment to mobilizing all necessary resources to ensure public safety and organize credible, inclusive, and democratic general elections as soon as possible. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé expressed his gratitude to Kenyan President William Ruto and his government for their continued support in the Haitian people's quest for peace and stability.
