Haiti - Security : Japan will allocate a contribution of 10 million USD for the MMSS in Haiti

José Ignacio Paliza, the Minister of Administration of the Dominican Presidency, confirmed that Japan would allocate a contribution of $ 10 million to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in Haiti led by Kenya in order to strengthen international efforts to stabilize the country in crisis.

This announcement follows a meeting with Yoshimasa Hayashi, chief of staff to the Japanese government, during which the two men had agreed to promote a common response to the Haitian crisis.

Paliza stressed that this contribution testifies to Japan’s commitment to peace and security in the Caribbean region. He also indicated that the Dominican Republic would continue to actively collaborate with the international community to find solutions to restore social and political stability in Haiti, a country whose crisis has a direct impact on the island.
