Haiti - FLASH : Sunrise Airways adds 2 Airbus A320s to its aircraft fleet

The fleet of privately owned Haitian airline Sunrise Airways is expanding with two Airbus A320s. Under the terms of a new leasing agreement with GlobalX, which includes not only the aircraft but also crew, maintenance, and insurance, Sunrise will add these two Airbus A320s, configured with 179 seats, to its fleet, beginning in November 2025, bringing the total size of the combined Sunrise Airways fleet to 14 aircraft.

"With these two Airbus A320s dedicated exclusively to Sunrise Airways' operations, the airline intends to significantly improve its passenger experience and connectivity in the Caribbean region," explained Gary Stone, CEO of Sunrise Airways, adding, "We will initially deploy the newly wet-leased aircraft to strengthen our existing routes, particularly between Florida and Cap-Haitien. In the near future, however, these two Airbus A320s will play a key role in our efforts to expand our network to new destinations such as Fort Lauderdale, New York, and other key markets across the Americas."

Sunrise Airways operates under three separate Air Operator Certificates (AOCs): Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and the Eastern Caribbean.

By the end of 2025, the airline plans to operate 18 aircraft across its entire network.
