Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly prudent before the amendment of the Constitution
Commenting on the amendment of the Constitution, the President Michel Martelly has indicated that he was receiving mixed signals on the issue and that he would establish a team in order to not take unthinking decisions. He claims that in no case he will take a decision that involves the future of the nation, in a hurry and that he intended to keep the mind calm and serene.

"...For the amendments, there is another team that will be formed, because I got mixed signals. For example there is Me Gérard Gourgue, currently in Canada who sent me important messages, he told me to not move forward... I have also the Professor Georges Michel who said us same thing, but we also have others people who advise us to move forward.

You see, ourselves, we don't want rushing headlong, we must know where we go, it is a country that we manage, this is not splurge we do, so we are cautious we thought and we advance [...] today we can not rush headlong, it is necessary that decisions are well thought because we know that whatever we do, we are responsible. We will take important decisions for the future of a nation, we must take the time to ripen these decisions in order not to regret later..."

When asked to find out if the if the document of the amendment corrected and signed by the Presidents of both Houses was in his hands, the President Martelly answered "What document? [...] nothing that was signed by the National Assembly is in my hands and when we will receive it, we will not plungeas I told you, we will always keep a cool head, the mind calm and serene..."

Remember that Rodolphe Joazile, the President of the Senate, had confirmed that the text of the Constitution amended, corrected and ratified had been delivered to the office of the Presidency on Monday, but it is true that between the delivery to the office of the Presidency and the hands of the President, there is a political and strategic nuance.
