Haiti - Security : General mobilization of State security forces against gangs

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security; Mario Andrésol, Secretary of State for Public Security; Vladimir Paraison, Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH); and the High Command of the National Police, visited the PNH headquarters in Clercine (Tabarre) to reiterate the Haitian government's commitment to restoring public order and republican authority throughout the national territory.

This visit was part of the general mobilization of state security forces, jointly engaged in an offensive against armed criminal groups that threaten national security : the PNH, the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), and the Gang Suppression Force (FRG).

The Prime Minister expressed the Government's official gratitude to the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) for the donation of 25 armored personnel carriers (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46511-haiti-flash-us-donation-of-25-new-armored-vehicles-to-the-pnh.html ) intended to strengthen operational capabilities, the protection of deployed units, and the intervention power of law enforcement.

Reaffirming the Government's firm stance, Fils-Aimé declared, "The Government's fight is against gangs. The Government's fight is to secure the country. The State will not compromise. The State will not negotiate with criminals."

According to the Prime Minister, this strategic equipment will allow law enforcement to gradually retake territories occupied by armed groups and ensure the long-term security of the population.

Finally, Prime Minister Fils-Aimé emphasized that restoring security is a prerequisite for a return to constitutional order. He reiterated that 2026 will be dedicated to organizing general elections and renewing political personnel and republican institutions.
