Jacmel : An American arrested Two boxes of cartridges hidden in a humanitarian shipment destined for an orphanage in Cayes were discovered at the Jacmel wharf. An American citizen, Ronald Sanon, who had come to receive them, was arrested and taken into custody. Winter Olympics : Haitian Skiers' Outfits The Haitian Olympic Committee (COH) unveiled the outfits for the Haitian skiers for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Designed by Stella Jean in collaboration with former Italian ski champion Pietro Vitalini, these outfits are distinguished by their unique character: they are the only ones in the competition to have been hand-painted. They are based on the visual world of Haitian artist Édouard Duval-Carrié, a major figure in contemporary Caribbean art, whose work explores history, memory, and resistance. The Haitian team consists of Richardson Viano, competing in alpine skiing, and Stevenson Savart, a Nordic skiing specialist. Donation of 1.5 tons of medical supplies and medicines: As part of its commitment to ensuring continuity of care for displaced persons in the West Department, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) donated approximately 1.5 tons of medical supplies and medicines to the West Department Health Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health to support the implementation of mobile clinics. Thanks to this support, nearly 12,000 people will be able to receive essential care, particularly those living with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, or respiratory conditions.
