In a statement, the Haitian Customs Collective (CDH) expresses its strongest indignation at the decisions and practices of the current management of the General Customs Administration (AGD), headed by Gérald Remplais, which are causing deep unease within the institution.

While the marking process, which began on September 8, suggested that the new agents would be welcomed as early as October, "the CDH can confirm, after several inquiries, that this process has been superseded by the opaque recruitment of 210 agents close to Gérald Remplais, the current Director."

Since last November, CDH members have conducted several information-gathering and internal investigations into irregularities within the administration. The compiled evidence, according to the CDH, reveals a management style that neither promotes the advancement nor enhances the reputation of Haitian customs, but rather "is characterized by practices of favoritism and the granting of undue advantages."

Given the gravity of the situation, the CDH calls upon the competent authorities, state oversight bodies, and partners in the customs chain to address this matter urgently.

The CDH reaffirms its commitment to a professional, ethical customs administration that respects the rights of its agents, an essential condition for the proper functioning of the public service and the credibility of the institution.
