Visit to Women Living in Camps

As part of International Women's Day, Valéry Fils-Aimé, the new Minister of the Environment, visited women living in the displaced persons camps at the Pierre Labitrie Municipal School (Delmas 31), as well as at the Doctors Without Borders site (Delmas 33). These visits allowed him to observe the alarming environmental conditions in which the displaced populations are living. Digicel Foundation : 200th School

On Friday, March 6, as part of its 19th anniversary celebrations, the Digicel Foundation launched the construction of its 200th school in Haiti in Cap-Haïtien. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the Vincent Foundation National School, which aims to strengthen educational opportunities in the northern region.

Traffic Police Better Dressed

SPNH-17, the Police Union, acknowledges the distribution of uniform shirts within the Traffic Police Directorate (DCPR), enabling all traffic officers to wear the same uniform while on duty. SPNH-17 welcomes this measure, which aims to bring more order to the service and allow DCPR officers to present a clean, clear, and visible image to the public.

7 woman Judges Honored:

On Friday, March 6, 2026, seven woman judges were honored at a ceremony marking International Women's Day. Several public figures, including Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Minister of Social Affairs Marc-Elie Nelson, participated in the event organized by the Ministry for the Status of Women.

Haiti on the Agenda of the Shield of the Americas Summit

The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, stated that the security crisis in Haiti was one of the topics addressed at the Shield of the Americas Summit convened by President Donald Trump. In an interview, Abinader explained that the Haitian situation was discussed within the framework of security cooperation initiatives in the hemisphere, particularly in the face of threats such as drug trafficking and international criminal networks.
