On Friday, July 10, at a press conference, Vijonet Déméro, Minister of National Education, confirmed that the baccalaureate exams [for new candidates in S4, technical baccalaureate, permanent baccalaureate (S4), and traditional philosophy] would be held from Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 16, 2026, as scheduled in the 2025-2026 academic calendar. A total of 118,090 candidates are expected to take these official exams (102,878 new candidates in Secondary 4; 14,338 who failed Secondary 4; and 874 who failed traditional Philo).

Among these candidates, 23 will be taking the technological baccalaureate this year. They are all from the Cance Agricultural Technical High School (South).

On the security front, Déméro indicated that the Justice Department, the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), and the National Police (PNH) have given assurances that measures are already in place to facilitate the smooth running of the exams.

Furthermore, Minister Déméro expressed his gratitude to all those who played their full part in the preparations for these exams. In addition to parents and other educational stakeholders, he stated that he is counting heavily on the firm commitment of everyone involved in the operation over these four days to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly according to the established procedures and arrangements.

Osny Jean Marie, the Director General of the Ministry, indicated that all the access forms for the exam rooms have been printed and sent to the 10 Departmental Directorates of Education for distribution to the participants. All exam centers have already been identified and prepared to receive these high school graduates.

He reiterated the need for everyone to show understanding and support for all candidates, while reminding them that the rules remain strictly enforced during the exams: weapons, cell phones, and programmable calculators are prohibited in the exam rooms. "Cases of cheating will be severely punished," warned Osny Jean Marie, before asking the 118,000 candidates to remain calm during these official academic exams.
