The Mayor of Kenscoff commends the efforts and progress of the Haitian National Police (PNH)

Jean Massillon, the Mayor of Kenscoff, respectfully and gratefully acknowledges the considerable efforts made by the officers of the Haitian National Police (PNH) who, for over two weeks, have been tirelessly working to regain control of several areas of the municipality occupied by armed terrorist groups.

Significant progress has been made. Several areas that had become hotbeds of terror for the population have been retaken, including Viard 1, Viard 2, Terre Rouge, Godet, Dépensé, Nan Croupi, and Bélot.

Mayor Massillon commends the courage, determination, and sacrifices of the police officers involved in these operations. He encourages the PNH to continue its efforts with the same resolve to reclaim the other areas still affected by the presence of armed men.

However, he emphasizes that the recapture of a territory must be secured and protected to prevent the return of armed groups and to create the necessary conditions for the gradual return of displaced populations.

On this last point, Massillon said he understands the impatience of displaced people who want to return to their homes and resume a normal life. He asked them, however, to be patient until the areas are sufficiently secure and the conditions are right to allow for a safe and dignified return. https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-48581-flash-important-notice-from-the-town-hall-to-the-population-of-kenscoff.html

"Do not endanger your lives by returning too soon to areas where operations are not yet complete."
