The designation by the President Martelly, of Laurent Lamothe as a possible future Prime Minister, does not leave indifferent the political class. Évans Paul the leader of the Konvasyon Inite Demokratik (KID) before this designation states remain in the uncertainty "...Mr. Lamothe has a reputation of dynamic man who succeeded in business who has shown a willingness to make things happen in Haiti. This does not mean that Mr. Lamothe will be able to do this work. The second consideration is that Mr. Lamothe enters in the same register of people with no political experience, who brings nothing more to President Martelly, who also has no political culture. The positions of President and the Prime Minister are essentially political, who requires know-how to get to manage conflicts of interest, contradictions and other... The third consideration is a legal consideration, is Mr. Lamothe met all the constitutional requirements to be Prime Minister ? First there is an investigation on his ationality, but especially is he has resided in the country for 5 years ? So from all these considerations, I am still uncertain..."

"...at the level of OPL we do not pretend to say who should be Prime Minister, it is the Parliament that will determine who is able or not to become Prime Minister. If the President has made that choice in consultation with the President of both houses [...] which are both under the banner INITE, from that moment, there is no problem at all..."
