This Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012, the President Michel Martelly, will proceed to the signing of a strategic document with EU Development Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs, who is visiting Haiti for two days.

This is a document that sets until 2013, the priorities of the cooperation between Haiti and the European Union which provides for 100 million additional euros in support of the reconstruction of the country.

Two financing agreements will also be signed. The first related to the support to the binational cooperation Haiti/Dominican Republic in the areas of infrastructure, trade, environment and local development transboundary, amounting to €43 million, the other of an amount of €4.5 million is related to the support to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Following the signing ceremony of this document that will also allow to invest in infrastructure, governance and state building, Mr. Piebalgs will intervene before the Haitian parliament, where both Houses [Deputies and Senate] will be reunited.
