Lucien Jura Spokesperson of the Presidency explained that the choice of Prime Minister-designate had been done on the criteria of the President Martelly that is to say the seriousness and the discipline "Mr. Laurent Lamothe, alongside all his skills is pragmatic, has the will and shows an extraordinary dynamism and a spirit of openness [...] We do not believe that there is one block in Parliament, which not recognize or does not see in Mr. Lamothe, a person who meets the criteria to become the next Prime Minister of Haiti. Besides everything we have said, adding that Mr. Lamothe has also an ability to innovate [...] there is no doubt that the President of the Republic made the intelligent choice, the winning choice [...]
At the level of the Presidency, all observations have been made to see how he [Laurent Lamothe] can happen to secure a majority and we are convinced that the honorable senators and deputies, are aware of the urgency today, that t the country needs a person to govern at the head of government. We are sure that within a period not too distant, they will be able to analyze, in the light of the Constitution, the documents of Mr. Lamothe and that very soon, Mr. Lamothe will take the reins of the next government. It is our hope at the Presidency today..."
