Haiti - Reconstruction : Continuation of the visit of Martelly to Côtes-de-Fer
This Monday, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the First Lady, Sophia Martelly, has assisted in the St. Joseph Parish, to the celebration of the Mass, of patron saint of Côtes-de-Fer, St-Joseph.

The Reverend Father Pierre Samson, pastor of Gris-Gris, who celebrated the Mass commended the efforts already undertaken by the Head of State in the region and urged thousands of residents of the town and surrounding areas gathered in this occasion, to the understanding, love and respect for others, the the essential conditions to the development of the community.

Surrounded by the President of the Court of Cassation, parliamentarians, members of the Government, the Departmental Delegate and local authorities, the President Martelly expressed in its many initiatives his attention to this town : construction of the Place d'Armes, the rehabilitation of the parish of St. Joseph, concreting of several roads, electrification of the city, installation of solar street lights in various community sections, etc... and offered, for the fourth consecutive day, motorcycles to people to facilitate their movement and creating their own business.

The Head of State, joined by the Senators of Southeast, Edwin Zenny and Joseph Lambert, of South, Yvon Buissereth and Me Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Defense (MICTDN) went to the National School of Côtes-de-Fer to proceed to the inauguration of the multimedia room of the school, equipped with 15 computers connected to Internet, offered by the MICTDN, that will serve this school, whose the three classes of 1st fundamental year already benefit from the program of universal schooling.



"The decentralization must be effective everywhere," said President Martelly, who believes in the stimulation of market, of the agro-industry and the modernization of outsourcing systems. It also intends to work in structuring and modernizing the tourism infrastructure in the area, by involving among others, young people to the rural and urban development. "We must initiate a state of service that can take into account the various demands of the population and accompanied it towards its real development" declared the Head of State before the people of the communal section of Flamand, at the entrance of the Côtes-de-Fer, where are developed many projects in terms of local development, led by the organization "Water for Life" including 300 carreaux of irrigated arable land, several acres of banana plantations maintained and 5 wells operational, with a capacity of 900 gallons per minute each. Organizations of growers, whose ne of the most important, the Organization of Growers of Flamand (OPFLA), already plan four harvests of honey per year. The Head of State has among other proceeded to the distribution of tools to farmers and promised to accompany them by facilitating the technical training and agricultural credit.
