Haiti - Politic : Reaction of Prime Minister Garry Conille to the accusations of the Dominican Republic
The Prime Minister resigned, Dr. Garry Conille, on Wednesday condemned, energetically in a letter sent to the Dominican newspaper Listin Diario, the allegations made by certain malicious politicians of the Dominican Republic who described his decision to revise the contracts signed under the government Preval-Bellerive "of xenophobic incentive pushed by hatred, and racist attack." A sound decision which he said is consistent with "the universally accepted rules of transparency and good governance". Stressing that "there had not yet of reason to believe that all Dominican companies have violated the laws of the country in reference to contracts obtained by several foreign companies during the emergency period and who are now the subject of a Commission of audit," ensuring that the Dominican companies "have worked and continue to work in a satisfactory manner in Haiti [...] As will confirm the findings of the preliminary audit report, which are still confidential, foreign companies have not been specifically targeted." This is the first time that Mr. Conille intervened publicly on the revision of contracts signed by the former Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive.

Dr. Garry Conille wanted to provide some clarification regarding his resignation saying that this decision "has not been suggested, neither sought nor demanded by someone in Haiti or in Dominican Republic," as have tried to suggest some sectors, stating that his resignation was motivated by points of disagreement on matters that challenged his convictions on matters such as: compliance with laws and institutions, the rule of law in Haiti , the operation of an administration based on the good governance and the obligation of good results.
