Haiti - Politic : After the disappearance of the G16, a new G17 is taking shape in the Senate
The Senator Joseph informed that currently several senators from different political organizations including the OPL (Struggling People's Organization), the Alternative and INITE are under discussion for the establishment of a majority bloc in the Senate. The Senator Francisco De la Cruz confirmed that steps are actually underway in the Senate to form a majority constituted. Note that since the outbreak of the G16, after the ratification of Prime Minister Garry Conille, the senators vote according to their political sensitivity. The Senator stressed, that this will not only a majority block for the for the ratification of the Prime Minister-designate, but to discuss and take positions on several issues of national interest.

According to Senator John Joël Joseph the rapprochement Alterative / INITE, illustrates the willingness of leaders who wish to turn the page of partisan bickering... According to our sources, this new majority, would include seventeen senators, the names of the brothers Lambert would not appear in this G17, which will be essential in future negotiations, around the ratification of the Prime Minister-designate.

According to various sources, a dozen senators, known to be close of the power, are currently in favor of the ratification of Laurent Lamothe as Prime Minister.

The Senator John Joël Joseph explained that due the conflictual relations between the President martelly and the Parliament, he does not believe that the Head of State is able to achieve a majority in the Senate for his Prime Minister-designate. He urges Laurent Lamothe, to distance itself from the President, who is lacking according to him, of credibility with elected officials, and seek to secure by himself a majority in Parliament in the perspective of his ratification.

The Deputy Guy Gérard Georges, is going in the same direction calling Laurent Lamothe to conduct negotiations with the various political blocs by using his experience in the field within the government. He hopes that these negotiations will not be conditioned to a "sharing of the cake"...
