The Prime Minister is deeply dismayed by the incident that occurred on Tuesday 17 April at the Legislative Palace. He condemns in the strongest terms the irruption of armed individuals calling themselves "demobilized soldiers", which has disturbed the peaceful functioning of the Chamber of Deputies.

Faced with this situation, clear instructions were passed to the Justice Minister, Pierre Michel Brunache, and to the Director General of National Police, Mario Andrésol, in order to correct this state of fact detrimental to public peace. In addition, the Prime Minister convened a Council of Government and asked the Minister of Justice to convene on emergency the CSPN in order to take all arrangements to ensure public order and peace.

The Prime Minister resigned reiterates to the population his firm determination to comply with the prescribed of the Constitution and to continue to serve until the establishment of a new government.
