Haiti - FLASH : Morne Tapion, the worst has been avoided !

A new traffic accident occurred yesterday Monday, April 23 at 4:45pm on the National #2, to Morne Tapion [the third since early April] at the level of Petit-Goâve, at the same location as that of 7 April.

The brakes of a truck brand GMC Forward, registration CP22-724, which carried merchant on the route Port-au-Prince/Fonds-des-Nègres, have suddenly dropped. No casualties have been recorded, however there are a dozen passengers with minor injuries, which were transported to the hospital of Notre-Dame of Petit-Goâve to receive care.

According to testimony, the accident could have been much worse if the driver, Laviolette Wilson, had not been experienced. Indeed, when the truck's brakes have failed, the driver had the reflex to use the metal safety barriers placed along the road as a brake to stop the mad rush of his vehicle.
