Karl Jean Louis Director of Investment Facilitation Center (IFC) explained "we presented an investor [International Electric Power Company] who wants to enter in the field of energy, which will invest $ 250 million in this sector, it is the Phoenix project. They signed a contract with the Haitian government and the project will begin soon, they will collect household waste, and convert them into energy and they will do with a Haitian partner 'Boucard Pest Control' [...] the Haitian government has already given his contribution, he donated a land [160 hectares] to install the plant [...] the team will return shortly to take all logistics measures to provide this service to the population [...] Phoenix will collect waste in municipalities and convert them into electricity.
