Haiti has presented a very detailed plan, which is the platform on which the Government wants to sit its policies. It is important to give time and gather all the forces around this plan and its objectives [...] What I support, it is a legitimately elected government, it is a government legitimately constituted according to the rules and in the constitutional entrenchment of Haiti. How do you think that we can move forward, if one does not recognize the government that is in place by the wy of the democracy ? As UNESCO Special Envoy [...] I feel quite comfortable in the discussions I engaged with the Haitian authorities, because I believe in the need to support them in the strengthening of their capacity to act to achieve their political [...] In the present state of Haiti, we can not keep away those who have made significant contributions to Haiti, and that circumstances that are known, have led abroad. I make no distinction between people who have left the country for political or economic reasons, because for me, the two are related. That said, I also respect the Constitution of Haiti, this is an issue that we will have to address and I hope that eventually, the constitutional amendments will address this issue.
