Haiti - Tourism : Stéphanie promotes Haiti to the «Caribbean Week»

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Haitian Minister of Tourism participated in "Caribbean Week" in New York, organized from June 7 to 9, 2012 by the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

"Caribbean Week" is a major event, which showcases the diversity and dynamism of the region. Officials from the tourism sector of the region, media, artists, investors and strategic partners, were present at this event, which combined business sessions and events around the food, fashion, entertainment and networking within the Caribbean, for the benefit of consumers and potential partners.

The Minister of Tourism has attended workshops with many operators and tourism partners of the Caribbean, including airlines, travel agencies, media and other Haitian and foreign actors. At these workshops, the Minister presented the Action Plan of the Ministry for 2012. "The decision to invest in the tourism in Haiti is strategic," explained Ms. Villedrouin who stated that the tourism is the leader of the economic growth in the Caribbean." The presentation of the Minister, also focused on the potential of the country: its accommodation capacity, its attractions, historical sites, beaches and beautiful landscapes...

During her visit to New York, the Minister held a working meeting with the Commercial Section of Delta and a few travel agencies to create a tourism package for the market of the diaspora.
