Haiti - Culture : First Dance Festival Brazil-Haiti
The Embassy of Brazil and "Aochan Créole" of Viva Rio, invite the public to the First Dance Festival Brazil-Haiti to be held on 29 and 30 June 2012.

These public events will be held at the Cultural Center Brazil-Haiti, located 168, Place Boyer. Among them, dance workshops and of Haitian and Brazilian music and movies. In the evening there will be performances at Le Vilatte (by invitation).

The project of Viva Rio, "Aochan Creole", was born after January 12, 2010 following the meeting of a group of young people from 400 families sheltered to "Kay Nou". In two years "Aochan Creole" has become a projet of scenic art, which provides dance classes to over 200 Haitian students in Bel Air and a dance company, where 32 students receive a professional training and participate to presentations and national and international festivals.

The Gingado (Brazilian Cultural Association) helps with the "capoeira" (Afro-Brazilian martial art) youth, victims of violence, to rediscover the values ​​such as respect, responsibility and discipline. In Haiti they are today, almost 500 young people to practice "the capoeira". This project won the honorable mention in the category of physical activity and recreation in the competition "Ciudades Activas, Ciudades Saludables."
