The Regional Office North of the Ministry of Tourism has launched this week, the First Edition of "Festival of the Sea" which will be held from July 13 to 15, 2012. "Happiness on the water" is the theme of this major tourism event which takes place on the boulevard of Cap-Haitien and expand to the village of Labadee. Note that during this press conference, several members of the private business sector were present and pledged their support to make this festival a success and an annual meeting unavoidable.

Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Director of the Regional Office North of Ministry of Tourism, reiterated its commitment, with the support of the Government and that of Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, to work to make of the region North a unique tourist destination thanks to its historical and natural potential. She also stressed that the "Festival of the Sea" will be an engine of sustainable economic development for the community. According to her, This Festival will be a signal launched to the visitors from around the world to come and explore the various attractions of the Northern Region of Country.

Participating in this launch Jean Bernard Simonet, the President of the Tourist Association of the North (the ATH-Nord), wished that all members of the private business sector, form a synergy to make advance the North and give it its rightful place in the touristic scale of Haiti.

For his part, Mr. Malherbe Dorvil, the President of the Chamber of Commerces, of Industries and of Professions of North (CCIPN), has pledged to raise its sector, to contribute to the achievement of this Festival.

On the second day of this festival, taking place largely in the village of Labadee, Mr. Josue Charitable, the President of this community, welcomed the initiative of the Office of inistry of Tourism, which aims to showcase the area whose he is the leader. He also alludes to the preparations and the enthusiasm of the village of Labadee...

This Festival of the Sea, is the first of a serie of activities planned as part of the promotion of event tourism, advocated by the Regional Office North of the Ministry of Tourism.
