Haiti - Culture : Racine Mapou de Azor to the feasts of Saut d'Eau
The group Racine Mapou, who recorded last month at Real Biz Studio of Ricky Juste, is latest album, "Minokan Azor" announced that his CD will be available at the patronal feast of Saut d'Eau, July 16 and on the radio, throughout the country on the same day.

Saut d'Eau is the principal patronal feast of country where is celebrated Our Lady of Mount Carmel. On this occasion, the village of Ville Bonheur, located 65 km north of Port-au-Prince, receives nearly 200,000 visitors from neighboring departments, the capital and the diaspora. They come to honor the Virgin of Mount Carmel, Virgin of Miracles, who would have appeared there in July 1848.

Azor was very attached to the feasts of Saut d'Eau. Every year since its founding, the group Racine Mapou performed there for 5 consecutive nights, on the place called "Frontière" at the entrance of Ville Bonheur. In 2011, it is precisely the day of the Mount Carmel that Azor died [July 16, 2011] after having performed his last show.

For the first time in 18 years, the patronal feast of Saut d'Eau, will be without Azor, but a special tribute will be given. This year, the Group Racine Mapou de Azor takes over the activities on his own, to satisfy the fans, the next generation will be provided by three singers : Wilbert Joseph [aka Kwachaf], Nickel Jasmin and Belfort André. All three had the habit of working with Racine Mapou at the time of Azorfor special occasions, like Saut d'Eau or the Carnival, they served as relay in the lead vocals or support in the choruses. Nickel Jasmin collaborates with Racine Mapou since 1996, and his two colleagues, "Kwachaf" and Belfort and arrived in 2005 and 2008 respectively. In the absence of the regretted Azor, their difference and complementarity will certainly be able to comfort all the fans.

Several institutions have contributed to the special tribute given by Racine Mapou on the occasion of first anniversary of the disappearance of Azor : Ministry of Culture / Caracoli / FOKAL / Comme il faut / Valerio Canez / Barbancourt / Caribbean T-Shirts and Plus.

After the CD release and the feasts of Saut d'Eau, other activities are planned until October. A tribute to Azor will be made by the Ministry of Culture on July 20.
