The Prime Minister confirmed that his government was committed to invest $ 40 million to revitalize the city of Jacmel and invited the Haitian private sector of business and that of overseas, to invest in the tourism sector of Jacmel, in order to sustain the government projects. Taking this opportunity he also opened the consolidation site of the historic building housing the City of Jacmel on the place Toussaint Louverture, damaged during the earthquake of January 2010.

The Minister of Tourism announced that in approximately twelve months, the city of Jacmel will also be recognized as a destination for conferences, through the construction of a modern Convention Centre, fully equipped, of 800-seat as well as an amphitheater, on Congo Square, hich can accommodate about 600 persons. "The Historic Centre of Jacmel should serve as a central point of activity for the region, through the development of certain streets in down town," said the Minister.

In this regard, recall that the Government is committed to redo all the facades and buildings of the Rue du Commerce. To this end, the owners will be eligible for a subsidy and a tax break to enable them to carry out the work of these houses, which belong to the historical heritage of the city.

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin also mentioned the construction of a new hotel with 40 rooms meeting international standards through the project "Institutional Strengthening of the Jacmel town hall for the Urban Management of Historical center of Jacmel" funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development (AECI).
