On the sidelines of his installation, the new Minister of Education and and Vocational Training, Vanneur Pierre [which replaces Reginald Paul], introduced himself and talked about his priorities.

"I am a 'normalien supérieur', I have a degree in mathematics and a Master 2 in Project Management and a Master 2 in planning and economic analysis of education, currently I'm working on a doctorate in economy of the ducation. As a research professor at the University Quisqueya, I was responsible for a masters program [...]

Since 2006, I participated in the development of all policy documents in education, so I'm familiar to this ector that I know very well [...] I am new as Minister, , but I'm not new in the sector because I am there for years.

[...] I participated in all activities, which enabled that the Ministry has another image and that it can transform [...] for a long time, all that animated me, was to transform the Ministry, as a sector that provides quality educational services. This is the wish of the President, it is the wish of the Prime Minister, it is the wish of the Government, I feel comfortable to do this job [...] I am very ready to do this work [...]

Today's priority is the children's program, create a foundation for them, so that this program, at the end of the mandate of the President, is a program that stand, that is sustainable and that all children can go to school [...] and then, I want to restructure the Ministry, the Central Office and the Departmental Offices that provide this program and other programs of the Ministry [...]

Currently, there is a big project about the payment of teachers. We will handle their situation [...] we start putting all the provisions in place. From now to the back to school , for sure that these things will be solved [...]

During the two months remaining before school starts, we will work hard to have a new school year that allow us to relieve the parents, and that we can improve the learning conditions especially..."
