As part of the Business Diplomacy, initiated and promoted by the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierre-Richard Casimir, received in audience on 9 August 2012, Mr. Philip Kentwell, the High Commissioner of Australia to the CARICOM, who is in special travel in Haiti.

During this meeting, the discussions focused on the interests of an Australian company to invest $200 million U.S. dollars in the field of mining exploration in Haiti. Several other points relating to the interests of both countries, including the issue of scholarships and the strengthening of bilateral ties, have been the subject of exchange between these two top officials.
