Haiti - Economy : Isaac has caused more than 300 million gourdes of damage to the EDH 03/09/2012 11:20:56
The passage of Isaac, caused extensive damage on the whole equipment of the EDH. Through the national territory, the EDH reported a loss of 230 transformers, 1,200 poles of 40 feet and 1,000 poles of 35 feet. In Port-au-Prince, 120 km circuits have been damaged [30 of 32 circuits were out of service]. Losses estimated at 336 million gourdes. The losses at the level of Jacmel totaled around 2.8 million gourdes for 1 km of damaged circuit and a network completely off. For the Artibonite and Centre, losses were estimated at approximately 2.8 million gourdes.
