In the metropolitan area the 32 circuits are back in service since Friday. After this first step, the Electricity of Haiti (Électricité D'Haïti - EDH) launched the second repair phase, during which the technical teams will intervene in the zones of Marchand Dessalines, upper Delmas, Pelerin 7, Laboule 10, and Boutillier and Furcy, which had already of equipment vulnerable and have been isolated. These zones are the priority for the EDH, the EDH is currently working to restore power in them.

The passage of Isaac, caused extensive damage on the whole equipment of the EDH. Through the national territory, the EDH reported a loss of 230 transformers, 1,200 poles of 40 feet and 1,000 poles of 35 feet. In Port-au-Prince, 120 km circuits have been damaged [30 of 32 circuits were out of service]. Losses estimated at 336 million gourdes.

The losses at the level of Jacmel totaled around 2.8 million gourdes for 1 km of damaged circuit and a network completely off. For the Artibonite and Centre, losses were estimated at approximately 2.8 million gourdes.
