29, 30 and 31 July, thousands of Haitians have participated in the "Carnival of Flowers". At the occasion of this event, the Ministry of Culture launched the contest "The most beautiful picture of the Carnival of Flowers" in order to preserve the memories of those good times, with more people, encouraging photographers, amateur or professional, to immortalize this great cultural event.

59 amateur and professional photographers, participated in this contest and submitted their photos to a jury composed of Philippe Dodard, Michèle Frisch, Kesler Bien-Aimé and Manoël Anglade.

This week, Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture, announced the names of the two winners of the contest "The most beautiful picture of the Carnival of Flowers" :

Pierre Michel Jean : category professional (Cash prize of 75,000 gourdes)

Yves Montoban : category amateur (Cash prize of 50,000 gourdes)

In addition, hundreds of photos of other photographers were selected for inclusion in the book of Carnival of flowers, to be published. These pictures will be captioned and described. Each photographer will receive 4.000 Gourdes per photo chosen.
