Haiti - Politic : Some news of Prime Minister in New York (UPDATE)
The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, at the head of a delegation is in New York to attend among other the 67th General Assembly of the UN and a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). During his stay over thirty appointments are on its agenda.

Sunday, during a press briefing at the Consulate of Haiti in New York, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe declared that the message that will be launched during the UN General Assembly will be "[...] that things are changing in Haiti, we will present the points, the balance of what the Government has done in the different sectors, in the rule of law, in the reconstruction with the beginning of major national worksites, launched last week.

This is the first time in history, there is a government that has implemented various welfare programs, free schooling for children [...] the conditional transfer program for mothers [Ti-maman Cheri], a direct program to support the poor families, which will start from 15 October [Aba Grangou] and more than 300,000 families will benefit of it.

We will also talk them of the cooperation we need between different countries, we will make bilateral meetings with among others with South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Ecuador, the United States. We will also meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

[...] We are very confident that Haiti will be really well represented with dignity, pride [...]

We will have a meeting with an investor in the field of electricity, we do not know him yet, we'll look at his presentation, it is one of the largest in India and one of the largest in the world, so we wish that all goes well.

There are several appointments scheduled with investors through the Presidential Advisory Council on Investment (CPCI). Our hope is that we can succeed to find projects that could land for the population. We will also meet the Vice-President of Microsoft [...] Microsoft company has projects in Haiti, we will discuss these projects with him, to see how we can help him in its entry into Haiti [...]"


This Monday, Laurent Lamothe will speak to many heads of state at the UN. He will also participate today (among others) to a reception hosted by President Barack Obama. On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister will attend a series of major events.

Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs has left Haiti Sunday, September 23 to join the delegation and participate in a series of bilateral meetings.

The President Martelly, should join the Haitian delegation in New York on Tuesday evening. The next day (Wednesday) he will speak to the diaspora, at the rooklyn College, Whiteman auditorium, 2900 Campus Road Brooklyn, NY 11210, from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Live entertainment by Shoubou of Tabou Combo, Isnard Douby of System Band, Cubano of Skah-Shah, Michael Guirand of Carimi, Alan Cave of ZAIN and G5 Melody.

September 27, Michel Martelly and Laurent Lamothe will meet U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

he President and the Prime Minister will return to Haiti on next Weekend.
